Signage! and Snow! The St Cloud area is on the northern edge of this weeks blizzard which hit hardest further south.

Now folks who are driving by will know who is moving in. We are hoping to open the doors for customers in the second half of next week. We will have staff training on the Electronic Medical Records System which will help provide fully documented care and medical record's for your pet's well being. It should also cut down on unnecessary photo copies.

Ahh, the beauty of real front doors
A little tile detail.

Once again, we went to check on progress and we elected to remain outside as the floor was still undergoing treatment and finishing. We expect a lot to be happening in the next 2 weeks before we open. We're juggling schedules for deliveries and staffing, we're making a list and checking it twice.
We will plan a formal grand opening event some time next spring when the weather warms up again. But we invite you to come visit us in the meantime!
Here is a pretty decent rendition of the floor color. The picture was taken outside as the floor crew happened to be busy applying wax and finish coats.
Saturday, November 21st, 2009
Not much new to show on the exterior. Inside however the concrete floor is being stained and sealed where it was specified. We elected to just peak but not tread on the floor as it underwent its treatment.

And the new developments included ceiling gridwork as well as lighting. If you look carefully you will notice mulching. The Prairie Restoration company came in and began the first phase of the prairie planting.
I find the process and speed of progress quite amazing. That and the quality of today's cell phone cameras.
Here is the view outside the Doctor's office, lots of mulch, new black dirt. Mt Biwabik is slowly being displaced so we are taking fewer "aerial" photos. The big picture is the Fasen round barn becomes more revealed.

It was much easier to visualize the interior spaces
Much of the duct work had also been put into place
Perhaps the biggest news since the 11th was the completion of the interior wall painting.
Wednesday November 11th, 2009
This was actually Tuesday AM, the rock had arrived and its placment had begun. Inside the HVAC crew began their task of constructing the duct work.
Here is Dr. Gerds with Jeff Rasmusson of Rass Landscaping/Design who put the perimeter rock in place. Again a pretty nice sunny day in the region. The cedar wood accent around the entry was sealed.
The sheet rock crew completed their final sanding yesterday, today the interior walls received a sealing coat.
We had the opportunity to meet with our Certified Veterinary Tech, Heidi and gave her a quick tour. We also shared with her a demo of the Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management software. She is a Sartell native with strong ties to the community, we're very excited to have her on board!

Today, perhaps the most pleasant in the last 30 days, reached close to 60 degrees. This change in weather helped greatly as the crew applied the final coating to the EIFS on the exterior. We had an opportunity to spend some time with Amanda, one of our client care staff, and her fiancee. We are pleased to have her on board. Here are a few shots of the fresh exterior.

Rare blue sky seen in the back ground provides nice contrast to stone and finish.

H1N1 flu confirmed in Iowa cat
Source: American Veterinary Medical
Association Press Release
— A cat in Iowa has tested positive for the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus, state officials confirmed this morning, marking the first time a cat has been diagnosed with this strain of influenza.
The cat, which has recovered, is believed to have caught the virus from someone in the household who was sick with H1N1. There are no indications that the cat passed the virus on to any other animals or people.
Prior to this diagnosis, the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus had been found in humans, pigs, birds and ferrets.
The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) are reminding pet owners that some viruses can pass between people and animals, so this was not an altogether unexpected event. Pet owners should monitor their pets' health very closely, no matter what type of animal, and visit a veterinarian if there are any signs of illness.
The AVMA is actively tracking all instances of H1N1 in animals and posting updates on our Web site at www.avma.org/public_health/influenza/new_virus.

So many advances this last week both inside and outside. The area has actually had a few days in a row now where it has not rained. The sheet rock crew have been busy buttoning up the inside.Sadly the Rothko-esque abstract expressionist sheet rock art will go largely unappreciated underneath the painted walls.
Black dirt, painted parking lot lines, EIFS Foam layer and decorative rock in place outside.
Tuesday November 3rd, 2009
Waterproof base layer for the EIFS is blue, we enjoyed the brief color display.
Sheet rocking is mostly in place and nearing completion.
Friday October 30th, 2009
Weird weather pattern this fall, rainy weekdays and rather nice on the weekends. Great for the 9 to 5 weekday worker, perhaps a blessing for all but the week day construction project. Here are a few shots we happened to capture between the cloud cover.Scout Drive & Pine Cone Rd

The new parking lot is laid and the roofing is complete.Thursday October 22nd, 2009
Things are moving quickly. Roofing is underway, much of the framing is done inside. The driveway is ready for paving. We've made some offers for employment and we are very excited about our new Certified Veterinary Technician!Sunday October 18th, 2009

Ground Breaking Day September 11, 2009
We have digital X-ray, ultrasound and diagnostic equipment
arrangements in place.
We are
moving forward on the practice management software. We
are
working to expand our web site. Dr Gerds is reviewing articles and
in many cases giving them a full rewrite.
Scout Drive is located just
South of the Pinecone Marketplace.
Our location will be right where the
Sartell Chamber of Commerce held their 2nd Annual Rockin Barbecue Block
Party.
We will be between the Michelle
Kenric/Aveda Hair Studio Spa and
the Fasen Round Barn, not far from Coborn's.
The location was selected
in part because of the proximity to the Pine Cone Market Place so
patrons
may run errands while their pet is being cared for by our staff.
