Like you, we are all pet owners here; so we are going to treat your special one as well as we treat our own.

Staff

A Day At the Office

Here is Lola, the Becker Bulldog, being attended to by Lindsey, Jayme and Dr. Gerds

Heidi
Certified Veterinary Technician

HeidiI grew up in Sartell and graduated from Sartell High School.

I spent some time in New Jersey for College studying Equine Science. I have obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree from Argosy University. Currently,

I am in the process of  completing the requirements for my specialty in Veterinary Dentistry.

I also hold current credentials as a Certified Dog Trainer from the Animal Behavior College and am a current AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator.

My family includes twin sons who attend Oak Ridge Elementary School in Sartell, a Weimaraner named Arlo a Min Pin named Gus-Gus and two horses named Cody and Pro.

In my spare time, I enjoy hunting and the outdoors.

I am also a Bow Hunter Safety Instructor with the MN Department of Natural Resources.

Lindsey
Certified Veterinary Technician

Lindsey

Lindsey has been a certified veterinary technician for 2.5 years.

After graduation with her Associates of Applied Science from MSB Waite Park, Lindsey worked at a 4 doctor practice.

Lindsey joined Advanced Care Pet Hospital in December 2009, right when Advanced Care opened.

Lindsey  enjoys taking care of her 2 cats and 2 Cockateils (who get along surprisingly well together). She is a naturalist, a whole earth woman who cares about your pet's well being, a genuinely kind and caring individual.

Lindsey has lived in the St. Cloud Area for over 20 years and graduated from Apollo high school.

Chelsea
Veterinary Technician

ChelseaChelsea attended Monticello High School. She went on to the Minnesota School of Business in Plymouth for her Vet Tech Degree.

What I like about working with pets?  I enjoy making a difference in the lives of every animal I meet and also enjoy the impact each one of them makes on my life in return. I also love that no mater what they came into the clinic for, the majority of them are still as happy as can be and eager to meet us.

Accomplishment(s) In high school I had an art piece I made accepted into the U of M's permanent art display. I am also very good at finding homes for animals in need, to date I have helped find homes for about 8 animals in need. I hope to one day open an animal sanctuary or shelter to help as many as I can.

Chelsea and Dr. Gerds have history, they work together and are always looking out for your pet's well being.

Amanda
Client Service Representative

Client Service Rep
Amanda is from Clear Lake and joined Advanced Care Pet Hospital in December of 2009.

She achieved a CNA certification and has worked in direct patient care.  As a child, Amanda grew up with dogs, rabbits, fish and hamsters.  She especially has a strong passion for dogs.  Amanda believes that pets play an important role as members of families.

She appreciates the many positive benefits associated with animal interactions.  Amanda’s pet family includes two Black Labs, Maggie Sue and Dakota Lou and her new puppy, Lexie Mae.  In her free time, Amanda enjoys time with family and friends, outdoor activities such as camping, fishing and long walks, traveling, scrap booking, watching movies and reading.

Jayme
Client Service Representative

Jamye&LolaMy name is Jayme, I have lived in Becker Minnesota since I was just a baby.

My family is very close, and I have had animals since I was a newborn. It has made my family closer with the bonding we have done through the years with our mixture of pets, and large animals.

My earliest Memories from my childhood include bottle feeding newborn calves, and horses,  assisting my father with birthing our many different litter of pups we had, and feeling the love my animals gave me by knowing they trusted me with all their heart. By taking care of my animals and the responsibilities it has taught me at a young age has made me a better person.

I have had my certificate for Nursing Assistant since the age of 19. I hope to further my education and learn as much as I can by Dr. Gerds. The reason I love working with pets is the life lessons they have taught me, and the satisfaction I get from truly loving what I'm doing.

Tom
Office Guy

When we are not in the office I take care of much of the cooking and baking.

On my spare time I design and build wood canoes and sea kayaks at www.finewoodwatercraft.com. I enjoy working on our vintage 21 window VW bus and '46 CJ2a Jeep along with horse riding, canoeing and winter camping.

Staff Pets

Suzie, Biwabik & Scout (Dr. Gerds and Tom)

Suzie Biwabik Scout

Scout, the long haired Dashcund is approaching 11+ years now. He has been with Dr. Gerds since birth in 2000. Scout is pictured on the right rear in this photo.

Biwabik is the tan little gyrl pictured in front of Scout. She is named after the little town just south of the major iron range towns up north there in Minnesota.

I (Tom) had once mentioned to Dr. Gerds, how much I liked the way the syllables of Biwabik rolled off my tounge, I told her, if I was to name a sports product company, I would call it Biwabik Gear or something.

Shortly after I mentioned that story, our little gyrl was presented for adoption and she has had a home ever since. She is a YorkiPoo, hich we confirmed with a Wisdom Panel test which helps identify mix breeds.

Susie is our newest. She is the cute black PomaPoo pictured on the left of the photo above. Susie was presented for a dental and a spay after a puppy mill bust in March 2010. Dr. Gerds became a Foster Dog mom. After  week or 2 we adopeted her from the Tri-County Humane Society.

Almost every day all three of these wonderful pets are here for you to meet.
